Cars in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Police stated they were notified by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Police state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then found numerous other smeared cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking official said the incident left him without words and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
