Around twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the region, generating strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency response teams responded to 598 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.
